
unChain St Kilda is also putting the onus of funding the Palais refurbishment back on the State Government.
There is no good reason for the State Government to continue its opposition to public funding of the Palais Theatre refurbishment - especially while it continues to underwrite the Grand Prix to the tune of $35 million.
The Palais refurbishment could be achieved with a fraction of the taxpayers money spent to fuel a polluting car race for another three years.
Just one year's Grand Prix losses would provide more than sufficient public funds to refurbish the Palais as an ongoing profit-making public asset.
The lack of leadership displayed by State MP Martin Foley regarding the Triangle development has disappointed many people in his electorate.
